Panel Discussion, Case Presentations, Small Group Discussion
Ethical and clinical principles that guide our work are intertwined. Our treatment is informed by our personal values, the professional values of our discipline, and the values that inform our clinical theories. Through panel discussion, case presentations, and dialogue, we will uncover similar and divergent views about how standard ethical principles and our values are woven into our thinking. We will undertake this explorative dialogue within the small and large group. (3 CE hours)
Learning Objectives. Participants will be able to:
1. Name the 5 guiding principles that are the standard for mental healthcare.
2. Identify personal, professional, and theoretical core values and their relationship to ethical practice in group and other modalities.
3. State the essential ways that ethics and clinical practice are intertwined.
4. Describe the application of the guiding principles and value systems to clinical cases through small and large group discussion.
